Master Blends SRL was founded in 2012 from a chance encounter between Joan Carbó – a Catalan agronomist and winemaker newly arrived in Bolivia – and Daniel Lonsdale, grandson of Jorge Lonsdale, founder of the Bolivian Destillery.
The day they met marked the beginning of our short yet fruitful story, one that revived a pioneering legacy.
After an early stage shaped by constant evolution, Diego Nicolini joined the company in 2016. Owner of Cuatro Gallos, one of Peru’s leading pisco brands, he helped bring a new dimension to the company: a dedicated distillery, new French copper stills, custom-designed bottles, export markets, and ultimately, the culture and vision of a major spirits producer.
At 3,500 meters above sea level in La Paz, Bolivia, distillation becomes an extraordinary process. At this altitude, the alcohols and essential oils naturally present in botanicals distill at much lower temperatures through the copper still.
The result is a silky spirit that preserves every nuance of the original botanicals while harmonizing them into a single, refined flavor profile.
Master Blends is the first company to create a gin brand made in Bolivia using 100% natural Andean and Amazonian ingredients.
We are committed to social responsibility and environmental care. We work with some of the rarest and most distinctive botanicals, harvested by indigenous communities within protected reserves and natural parks, contributing to the economic development of these communities
